Reader Retention Suite
We’re also introducing a powerful suite of tools built to stop churn in its tracks.
Now, when a reader goes to cancel their paid plan, you can offer them the option to pause their subscription instead. Readers can pause their plan for 1, 3, or 6 months, after which their subscription will automatically resume.
You can also present a personalized offer to keep them subscribed.
In the example above, Status offers readers a discounted rate for 6 months. It’s a simple, effective way to retain subscribers who might otherwise cancel completely.
And if a reader does choose to cancel, you can now display a downgrade survey to capture valuable insights on why they’re churning, so you can adapt and improve retention over time.
It’s the same retention playbook used by the world’s top publishers, right at your fingertips. Here’s how to set it up:
Turn it on. Visit Settings > General Info > Content Access to enable the pause plan setting.
Add a discount option. Visit Monetization > Subscriptions > Paid Tiers to create or select an existing offer.
Advanced Options > ☑ Show discount on downgrade
Gather insights. Visit Audience > Surveys to create or select an existing survey.
Options > Enable as downgrade survey
Note: Redemption offers can only be redeemed once per subscriber to prevent abuse.
