Boost Your Opens with A/B Testing
A/B testing suite, guest authors, and segmenting based on custom fields.
Odds are the subject line you received for this email was already optimized to improve the chance of you opening it. How? Our new A/B testing suite (built to boost your open rates) is just one of the many updates we're launching today!

π§ͺ A/B Testing
Believe it or not, the difference between a 35% open rate and a 40% open rate could be something as simple as a better subject line.
When readers are scrolling through their inbox, the subject line of an email can make all the difference in whether or not they decide to click and open it. But it's impossible to know for sure which subject line would lead to the most opens...until now.
With the introduction of A/B Testing, you can now test multiple subject line variations (up to 4) and optimize the performance of your emails.
How it works
In the post editor under Email Settings you can toggle on A/B Testing
You can create a few different subject lines to test (up to 2 on the Grow plan and up to 4 on the Scale plan)
Users on the Scale plan can also adjust both the sample size (the % of your list who will receive a test variation) and the duration (the length of time the test will be conducted)
At random, subscribers (equal to the sample size you set) will be sent one of the subject line variations at the scheduled time of publish
The remainder of your subscribers will receive the email at the conclusion of the test period with the subject line that performed the best
If you are publishing to both web and email, the post will be available on web at the beginning of the test period (i.e. the original publish time)
Note: A/B Testing is only available on our paid plans. To learn more about our premium plans, click here.
𧳠Guest authors
Many publications leverage freelance writing talent or cross-promote by inviting guests to write their newsletters.
Rather than requiring these teams to create an account for each writer, we're introducing the concept of Guest authors so you can seamlessly give credit and add an appropriate byline without needing to create new accounts.
And it's available right in the post editor, so you don't even need to leave your existing workflow!
𧬠Custom field segmentation
A few months ago we launched the ability to upload and use custom fields in posts, allowing you to further customize your emails. As of today, you can now access those custom fields in our segmentation builder.
This unlocks the ability to:
Derive valuable insights broken down by custom attributes
Send email blasts to these select cohorts
Bulk update subscribers based on custom fields
Note: Users on the free Launch plan are only limited to 3 audience segments. To unlock unlimited audience segments and learn more about our premium plans, click here.
