๐Ÿ”’ Enhanced visibility settings

First we launched the ability to seamlessly group blocks of content into sections. Then we launched the ability to add custom styling (like background colors, borders, etc.) to these individual sections.

And as of today you can now toggle the visibility settings of any given section to only be visible toโ€ฆ

  1. free subscribers

  2. paying subscribers

  3. subscribers with a certain amount of referrals

Why is this such a massive unlock?

Making sections visible to only free subscribers allows you toโ€ฆ

  • Display ads to free subscribers but hide them from paying subscribers

  • Encourage free subscribers to upgrade to premium but hide these sections from already paying subscribers

Making sections visible to only paying subscribers allows you toโ€ฆ

  • Offer exclusive content to paying subscribers directly in your posts

  • Incentivize free subscribers to upgrade to unlock the hidden paid content

Making sections visible to only those who meet a certain referral threshold allows you toโ€ฆ

  • Offer exclusive content as a referral incentive directly in your posts

  • Incentivize subscribers to refer more people to unlock exclusive content

As an example of this in action, I can create a Chart of the Day section thatโ€™s only available to readers with at least 3 referrals.

Readers with โ‰ฅ 3 referrals could be shown the following:

Chart of the Day

While readers with < 3 referrals could be shown something like this:

Chart of the Day

Note: The referral program is only available to users on the Scale plan. You can learn more and/or upgrade here.

๐ŸŽฅ Reels & Shorts support

Our editor now supports rich embeds for Instagram Reels and YouTube Shortsโ—๏ธย

Simply copy and paste the URL and weโ€™ll render a beautiful embed for youโ€ฆ just like we do for tweets, YouTube videos, and TikToks.

๐Ÿ“š๏ธ Multiple publication support

For those of you who have several publications, you can now easily showcase and cross-promote your different newsletters from a single webpage.

To enable this just visit Settings โ†’ Website โ†’ Advanced under Multi-Publications.

After you select additional publications from your organization, weโ€™ll automatically create a webpage for you at the /publications route and add it to the default user menu on your site.

You can also add this page to your navbar in your settings here, or make it a part of your Subscribe Flow here so all new subscribers see it after signing up.

Note: Having multiple publications is only available to users on the Scale plan. You can learn more and/or upgrade here.

โœ๏ธ Author pages

As of today, all authors with at least one published post will have a dedicated author page that will display their photo, bio, social links, and all of their published work.

You can visit an authorโ€™s page directly by clicking on their name in the byline of a post. Weโ€™ll also automatically create a webpage for you at the /authors route.

To see this in action, you can read all my previous product updates here, or blog posts here.

๐Ÿ”Ž Advanced post search

We enhanced the search capabilities of your beehiiv-hosted website to include additional metadata and content in the search.

This should provide a much better experience for your readers and web visitors to discover the content most relevant to them.
