👋🏽 Say hello to Polls
Gather insights and collect feedback from your audience with a few simple clicks...
Happy Wednesday! We hinted yesterday on Twitter that we're going to drop something big to celebrate 3,000 followers. Despite coming up just a mere 148 followers short—we're so excited to share this feature with you all that we'll let it slide.
Polls (beta)
Scene: You've been sending your newsletter for months, and aside from analyzing your open rate and click rate data—you really have no idea whether or not people are enjoying your content. More so, you have no idea what they love (or hate) about your content.
Enter polls:
What do you think about these product updates? |
If you were wondering, I was able to create that poll directly in the editor. I didn't need to login to a different platform, or even leave my workflow of creating the newsletter. Just two clicks and I was able to create it on the fly.
What pops up when I select "Poll" in editor
After a subscriber clicks on an answer, their response is immediately recorded (only a single response is allowed per subscriber). They're then prompted to provide qualitative feedback on a page hosted on your beehiiv site and branded with your publication's aesthetic.
As you can see a few screenshots up, you can also add a Redirect URL which gives you the option to send readers wherever you'd like after they submit a poll response.
Poll results are aggregated and shown on your post's metrics page after the newsletter is sent.
Displaying poll results
It's worth noting that poll results are unique per post. Meaning if you want to use the same satisfaction poll in every single one of your newsletters, you can simply create that poll once and drop it into each subsequent newsletter. Results are aggregated on a per post basis so you don't need to constantly recreate the same poll over and over again.
In addition to creating them directly in the post editor, you can access and create all of your polls by visiting the Audience tab in your navbar and clicking on Polls.
Note: polls are only available on the Grow and Scale plans. You can learn more about our available plans here.

Beta
An important disclaimer: this initial launch is very much a beta, which means:
It's been thoroughly tested and works well, but...
We believe there is additional functionality we could add to make this 💯 .
We didn't deem that functionality necessary for launch...but are currently heads down working on it now.
We are extremely open to feedback on how we can make it even better.
If you discover any bugs, or have suggestions on how we can make polls a better product for you...please click the button below to submit feedback and/or report bugs.
Are you excited about this feature!? |
And as you can see by the poll above:
Polls aren't limited to just satisfaction surveys—you can create polls about anything to collect insights about your audience.
You aren't limited to just a single poll per newsletter—you can drop as many in as you'd like.
Note: polls are only available on the Grow and Scale plans. You can learn more about our available plans here.
