Introducing: text editor 2.0, referral program updates, and more

Product updates // January 3, 2022

Happy New Year!! 

This is the first of many product update emails we plan to deliver this year, as we prioritize and continue to add new features and functionality to help your newsletter scale and succeed. 

Some of the updates we wanted to cover:

Text editor 2.0

The all new text editor is sleek, responsive, and optimized for you to be able to create content and send posts with fewer clicks and more control.

The editor lives on the left side of the screen, while all of the settings and post configurations live on the right. All within a single page, you're able to edit all post metadata, view mobile and desktop previews of the content, set and update audiences and delivery times, send test emails, edit your email template, and more.

Text editor 2.0 is currently in beta. To request access to the all new editor experience, simple reply to this email and we'll enable it for you shortly. Otherwise, all users can expect to have access within the next few weeks.

Referral program updates

We've added two additional Advanced Features to give you more control over your referral program. 

  1. Auto refill — for rewards that are included in the achievement email readers receive when they reach a certain milestone, toggling this on we will automatically mark those subscriber's rewards as fulfilled. This is useful if the email you send readers includes a promo code, link to a community, etc. and there is no action on your end to "fulfill" the reward.

  2. Delay email until fulfilled — rather than readers receiving an email as soon as they reach a milestone, toggling this on will require you to manually review the reader's referrals and approve them prior to them receiving an email acknowledging their achievement. This is useful for higher value rewards that you'd want to review prior to sending.

You can find both of these under Advanced Settings in under Milestones (you have control to toggle this on and off for each individual milestone independently).

Custom thumbnail images

Previously your thumbnail image (the image that appears when you share your newsletter's URL on social media, via text, etc.) was auto-defaulted to your logo.

We've made this more flexible so you can upload a custom thumbnail image. You can find this in your Publication Settings page. The recommended size is 1200x630.

Custom CTAs

Previously all of the buttons and CTAs on your website were defaulted to "Subscribe". We've added a new field in your Publication Settings (seen in the bottom of the image above) where you can change the CTA text for your site.

If you were to update yours to "Join Free" you'd see these on your newsletter's pages.

There's no need to update it or take any action if you'd prefer yours remains "Subscribe."
