Introducing: custom domains, pricing updates, clipping warning

Product updates // October 8, 2021

We've got some exciting new updates to announce this Friday!

  1. Custom domain support

  2. Pricing updates

  3. Clipping warning

  4. Infinite scroll

Custom domain support

By default, all beehiiv publications are hosted on our domain and users are able to create a custom subdomain. For example, you can find our friends at The Drop at thedrop.beehiiv.com (we recommend signing up to stay up to date on everything NFTs).

With the introduction of custom domains, you can configure your publication to live on any domain that you own. For example, if you own coolnewsletters.com, your beehiiv website can now host all of your content there as well.

In addition, if you want to keep your web content elsewhere (Wordpress, Webflow, etc.), you can leverage a subdomain of your choice for your newsletter and web content on beehiiv. For example, if your site lives at bigdeskenergy.com—you could choose to have your beehiiv content live at newsletter.bigdeskenergy.com.

This has been one of the top requests from our users, so we're very excited to launch this.

Note: this is a premium feature that requires users to be on at least the Pro plan. This feature will be self-serve soon, but in the meantime reach out to our support team to enable it.

Pricing updates

Speaking of the Pro plan, we have an updated creator-friendly pricing model that we believe is more directly aligned with our users wants and needs.

We've simplified our previous 7 plans down to 4: Starter, Creator, Pro, Growth.

Each of the subsequent plans includes additional features (premium subscriptions, multiple publication support, custom domains, etc.), in addition to supporting increased list sizes. These plans are remarkably competitive relative to other email providers, and include best-in-class customization tools, deliverability, automated email verification, and more.

Clipping warning

Most people familiar with creating email newsletters know how annoying the pesky Gmail clipping issues can be. We've built tools to monitor and identify newsletters that may be susceptible to clipping and warn you prior to sending.

Infinite scroll

This one's pretty self-explanatory, but who doesn't love a good infinite scroll. All publication pages now support infinite scroll by default.

Check out our friends at Thinking Is Cool to see it in action (and be sure to subscribe).

That’s it for this week, but there’s plenty more to come. Hit reply and let us know if there’s anything you want or need to help scale your newsletter that isn’t currently available on beehiiv.

And be sure to follow us here on Twitter for real-time product updates and announcements.
