Multi-Step Builder

The first thing you’ll notice is the streamlined design — we've replaced the clunky side menu in favor of a sleek, new multi-step builder.

This upgrade does a few key things:

• Creates a beautiful, distraction-free writing environment.

• Reduces mistakes and helps prevent missing important settings.

• Ensures all of our powerful features and configurations are easily accessible, no longer buried in a crowded side menu.

We've reimagined the old side menu (and its companions) into their own dynamic pages, easily accessible right from the top of your post. While crafting your content, you're free to jump between these five pages at any time.

1. Compose: Write, edit, and collaborate with your team to create your newsletter content.

2. Audience: Select the mediums, permissions, and audiences for your content.

3. Email: Configure subject lines, preview text, A/B tests, and other settings.

4. Web: Set everything from permissions to SEO tools.

5. Review: Final final confirmations to schedule and share your content.

Compose

Creating content on beehiiv has never been so seamless, powerful, or enjoyable ✨.

We’ve given you a nice distraction-free writing experience that frees up a ton of space in the margins, letting our new comment feature truly shine. Now, you can add comments, suggest edits, tag teammates, and engage in real-time threads — all directly within the editor.

We’ve also brought several key configurations to the forefront of the Compose page, making them more accessible than ever:

• Title

• Subtitle

• Author(s)

• Thumbnail

• Content tags

These crucial elements now reside at the top of the Compose page, ensuring you never overlook these essential parts of your post. You can easily edit, update, or remove them at any time.

Draft Links

One of the most requested features is here: Draft Links! Now you can share your unpublished posts with friends, family, co-workers, or advertisers before going live.

Need to get final approval on an ad copy? Or maybe you'd like your mom to have a sneak peek before anyone else sees it.

With Draft Links, you can easily share a private URL to your unpublished post with anyone. Simply click on the arrow next to the Preview button to grab the link.

We’ve also beefed up the Preview functionality:

• From the dropdown, you can select to simulate subscribers and send test emails to members of your team.

• Plus, our all-new post preview feature provides a clear view of how your post will look both on the web and in inboxes.

Version Control

Technically, there are now two types of version control.

Before Publishing: You can now easily find, view, and revert to earlier versions of your post at any time. Whether you're changing direction or need to recover lost work, version control keeps your previous drafts safe and accessible.

After Publishing: To prevent visitors from seeing incomplete edits, posts will no longer auto-save. Instead, you can make changes and publish updated versions at your convenience.

Audience

The new Audience page streamlines the process of managing your readers. You can:

• Choose your target audience effortlessly.

• Include or exclude custom segments with ease.

Additionally, the summary tab offers a clear overview of your audience settings, helping you avoid any errors.

Email

We know that A/B testing is powerful, so we’ve revamped our suite to offer more flexibility than ever before.

And that’s just one of the many enhancements we made to the new email settings 💪.

Web

I’ll be the first to admit that some of beehiiv’s most powerful features used to be buried in the side menu when creating posts. Not anymore! Now, they each have their own dedicated place on the Web page:

• Email capture (popups and email gates)

• Audio newsletters

• Comments

• SEO tools

• Visibility settings
